impermanence: burned images
Photographer Seung-Hwan Oh uses microbes specially prepared to “eat” emulsion to reveal his work. The microbes react with the components in the photo negatives over a period of months. At one point of the process the photographer retakes the negatives and, before the pictures completely disappear, scans and reveals them. The results of the process are a good metaphor for images and life.
