They’ve become the celebrated symbol and trademark of all our local festivals and celebrations over the last two decades. Though they wear neckerchiefs and berets in today’s historical-folkloric stage and street performances, the Gora Euskadi (Up the Basque Country) cloth hats will surely take their place in the future. Thing is, we’ve found out that the Gora Euskadi hats worn all over the world by thousands are actually made in Spain. Cordoba to be more precise. Well, that’s where they were making them up until quite recently. The last bunch of Gora Euskadis to hit our shores were actually manufactured in China.
And don’t get us wrong. We love the Spanish Gora Euskadis and Chinese Gora Euskadis just the same.
