The Eraser·XL Recordings 2006
Thom Yorke has just released his debut solo album while his group Radiohead decide when and with whom they'll be releasing their next piece of work. The sleeve work shows a civilisation on the point of drowning. The record is based on the legend of an Great British king and brings with it social and political criticism. He stands in the footsteps of the king as he tries to make headway against the waves. That's the message on this record. Yorke has hidden amongst the waves of electronic sound he has us so used to with his band to produce this moving first release.

DJ Kicks·!K7 2006
Kieran Hebden is back with his latest bet: DJ Kicks. He's back with a wicked mix of a collection of the music and songs that have influenced him over the years. His sounds are both new and old, and the likes of Animal Collective, Autechre or Curtis Mayfield on the same record in a way you'd never imagine. Hebden is still different, he knows how to be innovative with everything that he does. He goes walking in the dark forest and brings out the bright colours in the place and we're only to glad to get lost in those type of places.

Nuevo Catecismo Catolico·No tomorrow records 2006
There are 11 songs on this record that lasts 1530 seconds. It's still those good old NCC. 100% punk rock. What stands out on this record is that the vocals can be heard much better than ever and the songs become anthems on the first listen. The opening track noise!noise! needs just one spin for it to become classic NCC. You know this one will go down a bomb live. Karlos Osinaga, "Txap", has produced the record and the band will remain loyal to tradition by releasing a vinyl version as well. It's only 1530 seconds but you'll be breathless by the time you get through this record.

Compilated by Kon & Amir and Dj Muro·Bbe records 2006
A double album for you here: Kon and Amir on one record, and DJ Muro on the other. There are 17 funk and soul-based songs on the first CD, laid back and elegant. There are 44 on the second. Yep, 44. In this day and age of downloading the odd song from internet, the idea of releasing a disc with 44 tracks seems madness. But that's not actually the case. None of the songs is longer than two minutes. Versions of songs by the likes of Aretha Franklin turn this into a right psychedelic music fest.
