I 310project.com Georg Kern (1938). He changed his surname from Kern to Baselitz when he was expelled from the Kunstacademy. In the 60’s he followed the Art Brut trend and his paintings had many explicit sexual images. At the beginning of this decade, he began to paint inverted figures, as a position against the figurative trend. This German painter is nowadays known because of these inverted figures. He was a very important influence for the figurative and expressionist artists of the 70’s and 80’s. Besides, lately, many surfers have become Baselitz followers.
