hurrengoa
google earth map    Surfing magazine started this idea off four years ago. The competition is based on a simple idea: discovering waves any place on the earth using google earth. A real jewel was found in the second year. Brian Gable, a surfer and IT technician, found what looked like perfect waves off the coast of Namibia, at out-of-the-way Skeleton Bay, without even leaving his own sitting-room. The magazine sent a group of surfers and, after a long and difficult journey, Cory Lopez, Peter Mendia, Hank Gaskell, Mitch Coleborn, Evan Slater and the photographer D.J. Struntz found fabulous 2 kilometre long, 20 second tube left waves. Some special information: being a place with large sand movements, the experts believe that the beach was formed 25 years ago and could disappear just as quickly.
The fourth year starts in October. If you want to use your eyes to travel by satellite.
