white fang txo!?   We’ve always thought the that the dog brought to life by Jack London was a clever and loyal little beast. We now give to you a not so typical version where our furry friend is still loyal, compassionate and he doesn’t have a bad bone in his body, but is old toothy quite as clever as he used to be? This is what Dario Adanti has to say on the matter: “Nobody should take these few pages as taking the piss out of the character created by London. It’s more of a loose interpretation of the story, and like any other act of this type, it’s very doesn’t make any sense and is totally idiotic".
This version of Fang was first published, almost in it’s entirety, by the Pagina/12 newspaper in its supplementary magazine Satira/12 in 1994. Surrealistic and idiotic humour go hand in hand with the most logical reasoning in this comic. Old Fang’s adventures are hilarious, but the funny thing about this little comic book is that for every one of Fang’s escapades (one per page), we’re treated to little strip at the end of each page where characters like La Pulga Dominguez, El Hueso Alberto, Numero Town and Filisberto Letraset come up with the most graphic of jokes using iconic imagery of bones, fleas, letters and numbers.
So, you have been informed of the latest publication by Inréves edicions in their Medio Muerto collection. Don’t lose track of this collection or the editorial.
Bet you just gulp this one down.
